Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) implemented by National Skill Development Corporation. The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
PMKVY is a huge step in establishing a model and iconic centre of excellence for skill development. The scheme was launched in all states of the country on 15 July which is observed as National Skills Day.
There are 577 course were there in PMKVY(Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) scheme but now in PMKVY(Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) 2.0 the quantity of these courses has been reduced and instead of 31 sector these courses has been divided into 32 sector but now there are only 219 job roles.
Classic Hospitality Training Institute started this programme with one job role (Front Office Associate) under the guidance of Manipal City & Guilds in the year 2015. Later on it added another job role (Housekeeping Attendant, Manual Cleaning) in the year 2016-17. Both the courses were conducted under PMKVY Central component (CSCM).
At present under PMKVY.2 State component (CSSM), it has been conducting trainings in three different job roles in Tourism & Hospitality Sector:
• Front Office Associate
• Food & Beverage Service- Steward
• Housekeeping Attendant (Manual Cleaning)
These job roles are short term courses which are for three months on an average. CHTI provides one additional internship programme for one month for all the trainees in Classic Group of Hotels. Till date we have been successful in maintaining the best placement record at various esteem organizations across the country.
So far we have been conducting both CSSM (Centrally Sponsored State Manage) and CSCM (Centrally Sponsored Centrally Manage) Programme. Till date we have successfully trained over 600 students under PMKVY programme.
